Gympie MP David Gibson is playing politics and spinning the truth with his statement that Commonwealth funding has been withdrawn. Last year the Qld Govt was falling over itself to administer Commonwealth funds for TAAS and now it doesn’t want to accept another $2.5M in funding to keep the program going because they might be committed to funding it after that. Not that this program cost the Qld taxpayer anything as it was self-funded from interest from tenants’ bonds.
It must be so embarrassing for regional MPs to be arguing in support of cutting services in their own electorates. This one will come back to bite them.
