Unfortunately TAASQ and homeless services are going to be played as cards in a game where the State will try and wedge the community sector and the Feds. In these interviews there is a clear difference in understanding about the proposed National Partnership Agreement on Homelessness. The State continues to take the line that the RTA does it all but we all know that is not the case. It is Brisbane based; it has to be impartial and until 30 June at least it refers people needing advice and advocacy to TAASQ. Over the coming weeks we will see the State increasingly saying that other services will pick up the TAASQ work – will they be homelessness services or will they be community legal services or both?
